ILLINOIS CHAUFFEUR BADGES WERE USED 1907-1851. THE FIRST
THREE WERE UNDATED. I AM NOT SURE OF THE DATES OF USE. THE BADGE WITH THE BLACK LETTERS AND NUMBERS MAY HAVE BEEN USED FIRST. THE FIRST DATED BADGE IS 1912. I HAVE A 1912 WITH THE MATCHING PAPER CHAUFFEUR LICENSE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE EARLIER ONES. THERE ARE THREE VARIETIES OF THE 1932 BADGE.THE STATE MAY HAVE USED DIFFERENT MANUFACTURERS. AS FOR THE PAIR OF 1926 BADGES, ONE MAY HAVE BEEN A REPLACEMENT BADGE. THE PHOTOGRAPH IS OF "BUFFALO BILL CODY" IN A CAR WITH 1909 ILLINOIS LICENSE PLATES.
